LCI thin film evaporation technology is used to process the most difficult to handle products in the polymer and plastic industry. Our thin film evaporation technologies allow us to solve problems that were previously difficult or impossible for our clients, including:
- Improve heat transfer, mass transfer, and flowability for viscous concentrated products up to 15,000,000 cp
- Preconcentrate polymers to feed vented extruders
- Concentrating and devolatilizing of Polyethylene, polypropylene, phenolics, polystyrene, polycarbonate, polyesters, PVA, polydextrose, epoxies, silicones, acrylics and many engineered thermoplastics
- Polymerization or polycondensation of polyesters, phenolics, and co-polymers finishing
- Complete reactions, devolatize, or de-monomerize plastics and resins in one piece of equipment
- Recovery of solvents and polymers from waste streams: Organic solvents, monomers, and other reactants; waxes, and low-grade polymer wastes
- Provide short residence time, resulting in better product quality, consistency, repeatability, and control especially for once through continuous configurations
