Quality Manager

Position Summary: The Quality Manager is responsible for quality assurance procedures and programs for the LCI product lines and operations. He/she will support project management teams primarily through shop inspections, industry code compliance, and document control but also other areas as required. The quality manager must develop and maintain strong technical knowledge of LCI product lines. The quality manager is the primary technical interface with manufacturing partners and machine shops.

Job Duties:

  • Develop, implement and maintain a Quality System Management program compliant with the ISO 9001 standard. Develop and maintain a quality manual. Train LCI personnel on quality procedures and monitor conformance to said procedures. Manage/resolve non-conformance and follow-up on corrective and preventative actions.
  • Write technical bulletins, standards & procedures dealing with design and fabrication of LCI related equipment.
  • Technical consultant to LCI personnel, customers, engineering and manufacturing associates in all areas relating to quality aspects of LCI equipment. Primary technical interface with manufacturing partners and machine shops. Make every effort to identify and implement manufacturing and design improvements.
  • Responsible for shop and field inspections of LCI equipment to insure conformance to LCI and customer specifications. This includes visits to manufacturing partners, fab & machine shops and customer facilities for new and repaired equipment. Some domestic & international travel required.
  • In cooperation with Operations Manager, locate, evaluate, and approve fabrication and machine shops as qualified Supply Partners for LCI proprietary equipment. Work with LCI supply partner’s shop personnel to provide products in line with LCI quality standards. Assist with selection and contracting of global exclusive supply partners.
  • Project Management – Provide assistance in Project Management during peak loads as defined by Operations Manager.
  • All other duties that may be necessary from time to time outside the normal scope of your job description that will contribute toward the Company meeting its goals and objectives

Education/Experience Required:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Material Science or Engineering Discipline required.
  • 5 to 10 years of relevant experience required. Experience in pressure vessel environment is preferred.
  • Familiarity with ISO, ASME, ANSI, AWS, ASTM, PED NFPA, API, and other standard quality assurance and standard programs.
  • Knowledge of ISO 14001
  • Knowledge and experience of alloy, nickel, stainless steel materials.
  • Must be able to read and interpret customer specifications and advise management team on manufacturing capabilities based on the specifications.

Preferred Skills/Experience:

  • ASME associated with pressure vessels (at least 2 years working knowledge)
  • CMQ/OE- Certified Manager of Quality/Organizational Excellence
  • NACE- Certified Coating Inspector
  • AWS-CWI- Certified Welding Inspector (preferred)
  • AutoCAD experience
  • Project Management experience
  • Pipe/Vessel Fabrication

This position will be required to travel overnight approximately 25-30% of the time, including international travel. Valid U.S. passport is required. Local travel and day trips will also be required up to 50% of the time.

Process Engineer- Thermal

This role will be responsible for the engineering and knowledge of LCI’s Thermal separations technologies. This position will run laboratory feasibility studies (PES) and customer attended Test Center trials to develop scale up data. The individual will also maintain responsibility for system design/costing, proposals, field service and start-ups.


Key Tasks and Responsibilities:

  1. Perform Test Center demonstrations and Laboratory evaluations, as a precursor to sales, on client material, incorporating LCI’s technology and experience.  Analyze the test data and write reports for the Test and Preliminary Evaluation.

  3. Estimate cost of proposed evaporation systems and prepare proposals.  Writing proposals including costing jobs and maintaining pricing levels in a way that will maximize LCI’s competitiveness and profit margins.
  4. Travel to customer sites to discuss potential applications, help set strategy, and present seminars covering LCI technologies. Domestic and international travel for start-ups of leased and purchased equipment.
  5. Inspect equipment during and after fabrication and assembly to ensure they meet the client’s requirements and expectations.  Communicate any deficiencies to the appropriate persons.

Education and Skills

  • Bachelor’s Degree (BS) in Chemical Engineering
  • A minimum of 5 years in an engineering capacity with experience in thermal separation technologies.
  • In-depth knowledge of heat transfer and fluid mechanics.
  • Familiarity with instrumentation and controls.
  • Proficient in reading Engineering Drawings (PFD’s, PID’s, GA’s, etc)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Working knowledge in Process Stimulation Software (ASPEN), AutoCad is desirable.
  • OSHA, safety and EPA training is preferred.
